FALL 2025 SHOW

Kent Art & Design Show Returns This November with Outstanding Local Artists

Kent, CT — Summer, 2025 – The Kent Art & Design Show, a juried and invitational showcase of fine art, craft, and design, returns to the Kent Community House this November 29–30, 2025. This biannual event is a cornerstone of Kent’s creative calendar, drawing visitors from across the region to experience the finest in locally made work.

The Kent Chamber of Commerce generously donated the rental of the Community House to support the event, allowing us to offer local artists a lower entry fee.  Artists and craftspeople are invited to apply on our website https://kentartanddesign.com/application-2/, and if not accepted this year, to try again next May. Organizers are committed to making this an annual tradition that continues for many years to come.

Held at the Kent Community House—an established destination for community events—the show features 25 exceptional artists, including ceramicists, painters, woodworkers, weavers, quilters, jewelry designers, tin artists, and blacksmiths. Each exhibitor is selected through a juried process or by invitation, ensuring a consistently high standard of excellence in craftsmanship and design.

Kent’s path from a quiet farming town to an art mecca began in the early 1900s, with an influential 1923 artist cohort and a vibrant arts organization that laid the groundwork. Today it thrives with galleries, events, and artists, making it a fitting stage for the Kent Art & Design Show—continuing a century-long tradition.

“The Kent Art and Design show was conceived because of our desire to get involved in a community project,” says Alison Palmer, founder of Kent Art and Design. “Steve Katz, myself, Ellen Corsell, and Elizabeth Place volunteer our time to make this happen, under the auspices of the Kent Chamber of Commerce. What better way to showcase all of the local artistic talent than to have juried shows a couple of times a year in our Community Center? It’s a charming, renovated building that highlights the artists’ work beautifully. Our hope is to have this grow over the years into a time-honored event.”

Organized by a committee of four longtime Kent residents and Chamber of Commerce members—ceramicist Alison Palmer, musician Steve Katz, fiber artist Ellen Corsell, and woodworker Elizabeth Place—the Kent Art & Design Show is built on a deep commitment to the creative legacy and future of the region.
